What happens when a man* sits and deeply listens to a woman's* experience?

Do men have a role to play in creating a fairer world towards women? If so, what could this role look like? Change makers Luke Hockley and Maree Cochrane have been exploring these questions in the award winning show, Listening by Hand, at Melbourne Fringe Festival. In the performance Luke spent several days listening to women talk of their experience in the world, with an aim to get men engaged in the process of deep listening.

Luke and Maree share their reflections on creating this project and reflect on the broader movement "I'm listening":  what they've learnt, how it felt, what changed, the effects, and what this means in our social context.

The space will be held by Caroline Buisson, who will curate the morning, framing the context and guiding reflection and discussion.

*“woman, women or female” refer to anyone who identifies as female and “man, men or male" refers to anyone who identifies as male.
