The art of storytelling

Mini-masterclass | The art of storytelling w/ Luke Hockley
Tuesday March 6th, 6.00pm – 8.30pm

Tickets here!

Stories create bridges between us. The Weekly Service is a space for people to share real, authentic and vulnerable stories; stories that draw from lived experience - we call these 'ideas with heart'.

In this workshop communication and storytelling magician Luke Hockley from Midnightsky, will take you on an experiential learning journey that helps you to find and shape an idea with heart to share in public.

During the workshop you will:
• Get practical support to “Stand somewhere and say something”.
• Find your feet and practice ‘being seen’ as a storyteller.
• Uncover and build confidence in your story
• Practice vulnerability, authenticity and courage in storytelling
• Improve your skills and confidence in public speaking. Including how to structure your story for engagement and impact.

Luke Hockley will be assisted by Matt Wicking in this workshop.

Why does the Weekly Service exist?
At the Weekly Service we envisage a world where we can live together as whole humans, in community within a thriving ecology. We chose to be propelled by hope and believe that a better world is possible. As a community, we want to reclaim our need for coming together through the creation of beautiful spaces for stillness, stories and conversation. This is our form of activism.

Why are we running this training?
The Weekly Service is run entirely by volunteers who believe in our vision. Our mission is to inspire others to start services in their communities and build a movement of services across the globe. The first step towards this mission is to empower you with the skills and confidence you need to curate a service and to support you to deliver a service in your local community. We are offering two uniquely designed workshops: this one and The craft of curation. You're welcome to attend both for a discounted price.

More about Luke Hockley
Hello! I am an artist. I write, draw, sing, dance, tell stories and make live theatre. I want the things I make to inspire people to believe they can create the kind of world they want to live in. I think there is a whole lot of people out there standing on the edge of a cliff staring at everything that matters to them and I want them to leap because they have the confidence in themselves and their community.
