Saturday service I Dancing as a vital art

  • Nest Coworking 829A High Street Thornbury, VIC, 3071 Australia (map)

“We believe when you dance on the land, you're letting Mother Earth know you still care about her…this is about restoring the energy, dancing the spirit back into country, dancing the spirit back into ourselves”  - Uncle Major ‘Moogy’ Sumner AM, Senior Elder of the Ngarrindjerri people

Brittany is a somatic ecologist and permaculturist who trained as a dancer since the age of 5. Yet on her path towards a professional dance career, she faced an overwhelming trauma that propelled her to leave Australia and live in North America.

This story shares Brittany journey’s back to dance and how the infusion of her two great loves —permaculture and dance— completely changed her perspective on planetary restoration. What began as a soul-yearning quest for personal healing, blossomed into a Masters thesis and radical inquiry of dance as a vital art for humanity.
